How to Make the Most as a Stripper

Everyone knows that strippers make more money than those who are slaving away in nine-to-five jobs. But even among strippers, incomes vary due to a number of factors.

One is location. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that those who do their thing in major cities earn considerably more than those who work small-town strip clubs. Among the cities where big bucks can easily come a stripper’s way are Las Vegas, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, where patrons tend to have deeper pockets and therefore are much bigger tippers. On the average, strippers in the aforementioned cities could earn as much as $500 an hour.

But just like in almost every profession, stripping can get fiercely competitive, especially with the practically endless supply of pretty and sexy women willing to make a living out of stripping.

However, being such a gorgeous young thing is no guarantee of big bucks. Many strippers attest that they know women who could pass for movie stars but make little or no money simply because their communication skills are sorely wanting. By contrast, there are average-looking strippers, of which there are many, who make loads of cash because of excellent communication skills. In other words, they are much better hustlers than their prettier counterparts. Although jaw-dropping beauty is definitely a plus for many strippers, the inability to talk and flirt with customers smoothly and effectively wouldn’t make them much money.

Now this may sound a bit strange, but a recent study conducted by psychologist Geoffrey Miller has established some sort of a correlation between a stripper’s income and whether or not she’s on birth control pills. The study concludes strippers on the pill earn considerably less than their colleagues who are ovulating. No kidding. The study found out that strippers on the pill earned an average of $37 an hour, while women who aren’t had earnings of $53 an hour. What Miller’s research is suggesting is that men tend to perceive ovulating women as sexier, a throwback to the theory that humans, just like other primates, can tell when the females in the species are ovulating like some other primates can. It’s a pheromone thing, and it’s apparently working for women who don’t take birth control pills. In short, strippers should stay off the pill to maximize their income.
